A Rupture in the Road
One of my goals this year or really New Year’s Resolution was to hike at least once a month. I hiked on New Years Eve and felt such a sense of relaxation being with nature and in the trees, so I thought why not? To my dismay, it was raining all into the New Year and at the end of January I was skipping and pulled my achilles tendon - or what I thought was a pull that turned out to be a rupture. Sometimes a rupture in the road happens and it helps you to slow down which is exactly what I needed. My friend said I’ve been so go-go-go in the last couple years since I’ve graduated, so I should see this as a blessing in disguise. I’m sad that I can’t achieve this goal this year, but I know it will be so rewarding to hike again after my recovery. I’m looking on the bright side of things by seeing this as a lesson to learn from and knowing it’s not a hinderance to my goals.
